HypnoLife - because if not now..............then when?
The Hypnotic Gastric Band Weight Management Programme

With obesity soaring around the world, gastric band surgery is more and more in demand.  Many well known celebrities such as Sharon Osbourne and Fern Britton have encouraged many people to follow in their footsteps following the obvious success of their surgeries.

The operation involves placing a band around the upper region of the stomach which reduces stomach capacity and sends 'full' signals to the brain much earlier than it would have previously.  The patient feels full after less food and, over a period of time, the reduction in portions leads to weight loss. After the fitting of a surgical gastric band a high proportion of patients experience ongoing, steady weight reduction until they reach their pre-determined target weight.

However, the surgical gastric band procedure is not for everyone, it is often limited to those with the highest BMI and not suitable for some due to anaesthetic risks. Others may be put off by fear of hospitals and the length of time it may take to recover. Also, there is often post operative discomfort and some unpleasant side effects.  Over 80% of patients having had a surgical gastric band fitted will experience one or more the following symptoms:

  • Nausea and vomiting (50%)
  • Reflux or regurgitation of food (35%)
  • Slipped band (25%)
  • Obstruction or blockage (15%)
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhoea
  • Difficulty in swallowing

In addition to these potential side effects, the surgical gastric band comes with a weighty price tag of between  £5,000 to £8,000  It does not offer a miracle cure and lifestyle changes will still have to be made to maximise any benefits.

The HypnoLife-Band is an ingenious way to aid people with weight problems to shed the excess pounds without the huge expense, surgery and the possible side effects previously outlined.

The success rate for hypnotic gastric bands is at least on a par with the surgical procedure, yet the health risks that are involved with surgery are removed.

The hypnotic gastric band is intended for people who have stones rather than pounds to lose.  Anybody who is overweight by around 2 stone or more may wish to consider the hypnotic gastric band.  The gastric band is usually reserved for people with a high BMI (Body Mass Index) .   If you have less than this to lose, then you may wish to consider other forms of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy to aid your weight loss goals and there are plenty of potential solutions - just contact us for a free initial consultation.

weight management, eating behaviour

With HypnoLife-Band the aim is to not only to achieve the same 'full' signals by way of belief of having a gastric band fitted but also to create better relationships with food (and drink)  for the client.  Being able to enjoy smaller portions and a healthier diet and safely lose weight at a regular and maintainable level.  It's a complete programme to aid you in initial weight loss and, ultimately, lifestyle changes that will help support and maintain that weight loss

The HypnoLife-Band programme is delivered to individuals over 5 sessions at our centre based at Kiln Farm, Milton Keynes.  The first four sessions address food relationships, behavioural changes as required through  personalised sessions based on your specific circumstances and culminate in the 'fitting' of the hypnotic gastric band during session four.  These first four sessions take place over 1-2 weeks, each lasting approx. 1 hour and are arranged between Clinical Hypnotherapist, Rachael Slack DHP MAPHP and yourself. The 5th session is approximately 4 weeks after the 'fitting' as a follow up to evaluate progress and make any necessary changes to your band.
